It’s officially Fall and I could not be more excited! We just got the necessities this weekend for the ultimate fall decorating — pumpkins, mums, hay, and a cornstalk. I already have my holiday mugs out, including my favorite pumpkin mug, and the sweaters are in full-gear, so all that’s left is to get some hot cider and light some candles.
We don’t go too heavy with the Fall decorating as much as we do with our Christmas, but we still like it to look festive. The first stop was what I refer to as the mudroom. It’s the first room you see when you walk into the house, so of course, it had to be perfect. On the table, we always put our scarecrow out (we’ve had it since I was young), and this year I decorated with some mini pumpkins and a basket of fresh apples (which makes the room smell soooo good). In addition, I also strung some white lights around the top of the wall, just to give it a more aesthetically pleasing look (as if it needed it)!
The second was the hallway, I laid out cool halloween-colored lights and some trinkets that we’ve collected over the years, including an awesome Casper statue that lights up. We don’t like to go too heavy in the hallway, as it can appear too cluttered. I’m very pleased with how it looks.
Lastly, the big kahuna. The mantle. We have a leaf garland (for lack of a better word) that I thought would be perfect for the mantle this year. Top that with candles and a cue “Harvest” sign and you’ve got yourself the perfect fall mantle. We decorated the rest of the living room with new and old candles to give it that perfect fall feeling. Viola! The perfect fall house that took maybe an hour to put together!
Do you decorate for fall? If so, what do you put up? Let me know in the comments!
