Mom and I are back at it again (as if we ever stopped)! It’s a prime time for Hallmark movies (and no, Christmas time is the GOLDEN time). It’s Valentine’s MONTH, the very foundation on which Hallmark was created, so every Saturday they come out with a brand new movie. This one debuted last year, but it still remains one of my favorites! Starring my main girl Lacey Chabert, a trip to Brugge, and a whole lot of chocolate, Love, Romance & Chocolate is on my permanent re-watch list.
Let me just say this right now; our girl did not disappoint — per usual. In this movie, she plays Emma, a “food stylist” who was just dumped by her boyfriend right before they were supposed to take a romantic trip to Brugge. But did that get her down? Absolutely f**king not. Emma takes the trip on her own and ends up meeting the real man of her dreams — a chocolatier named Luc, played by Will Kemp. Of course, their first meeting was not ideal. He was a complete jerk and she made a fool out of herself. So charming…and typical.
Nevertheless, they meet up AGAIN when her tour group takes a chocolate-making lesson at his shop (total coincidence, of course). That’s when we find out that even though the shop isn’t doing well, he has entered a chocolatier completion which, if he wins, will bring attention to his work and save the shop. Unfortunately, his assistant goes into labor and simply cannot help, so Emma, OUR hero, steps in to save the day. As for what happens next, you'll have to check it out for yourself (although I'm sure you can guess 😉).
This film was the perfect amount of cheesy and cute. Definitely one that I'll have to watch during the Valentine season every year, Love, Romance & Chocolate is not only one of Chabert's best Hallmark movies, but one of my favorites from the channel in general. Also, it made me crave chocolate on a cellular level. I swear, just watching the characters eat all that chocolate had me reaching into my own stash from Sunday. Aside from that, it's actually a really cute story and one that I think you all will enjoy! With all the makings of what Hallmark movies should be — love, food, and Lacey — this film is a keeper!
