Does anyone else plan their outfits for the week? Even when you’ve got nowhere to go? Not just that, but in terms of what I wear from day to day, I have everything laid out and ready to go based on what the weather will be and if I have any plans that should determine how “casual” I want to dress for that particular day. If you can believe it, all of this stems from being lazy. I don’t want to spend the morning hours figuring out what I should wear, so as do my laundry each week, I take an extra ten minutes to put together outfits that I think will look good.
Sometimes when I find myself with nothing to do, I pull out all the clothes in my closet and try to pair them together to form an outfit that I’ve never tried before. I’ll admit, this only stays exciting for about an hour (maybe an hour and a half tops) before I start to get tired. It’s the same reason I don’t enjoy shopping at the mall (for myself). I hate trying on clothes because it gets so boring, thus making the whole shopping experience more like a task. When it comes to putting outfits together, I’ll admit, the planned outfits keep being worn in a vicious circle until I get in the mood to put together something new. This urge usually comes once or twice per season but, hey, it works for me. 🤷♀️
I think one of the most exciting parts of putting together new outfits is that it gives your wardrobe a refresh without spending any money to do it. Pairing a shirt you haven’t worn in months with a skirt that only sees the light of day when you feel like it is fun. It may sound weird to some of you, but when you’re so bored and need something to do that isn’t going out, this is actually a really good idea. I just pop in a movie or put on my favorite playlist and GO. Before you know it, you’ll have a bunch of new outfits to wear. In fact, as I just refreshed my closet with new outfits, I already started planning my Christmas Eve and Christmas Day outfits…Too much?
Do any of you do this? Let me know in the comments below!!
