This one is another Hallmark classic. Starring Henry Winkler, Brooke Burns and Warren Christie, it follows Jen (Burns), a single mother, who starts to fall for a handsome stranger named Morgan (Christie) that her Uncle Ralph (Winkler) brings home for Christmas after meeting him at an airport. However, when it comes to their opinions of how Christmas should be done, Morgan and Jen really butt heads. As Christmas draws closer, the two will have to face some hurdles before they find their way to each other.
As a big Henry Winkler fan, he was originally the draw for this film. That and it was, of course, a Christmas film. It also features something that most Christmas films leave out — Christmas GROCERY shopping. While it’s not a long scene, it’s there, and it makes me happy. If that doesn’t entice you, you’ve also got Christmas decorating, Christmas shopping, and a budding romance. All of these things together make for a pretty decent Christmas film.
I believe this film came out in 2008, so it is one of the early Hallmark classics. I actually didn’t watch it on TV, but on a DVD, with three other Hallmark classics. I think I had given the DVD as a present to my mom for her birthday one year, which of course, I later stole in a ferocious need to watch Christmas movies that I hadn’t seen before and it didn’t disappoint. I think I’ve said this before, but some of the early Hallmark Christmas films are gold. Before Hallmark was doing forty films in a Christmas season (which, don’t get me wrong, I love) they really sunk their teeth into some films that felt fresh and not overused in terms of plot and all that. The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, on top of being a great Christmas song, is also a great film to sit down with a cup of hot cocoa and relax. That is a guarantee. I mean, really, with Henry Winkler, can any movie ever be bad??
Have any of you watched this one? Let me know in the comments below!
