I’m going to let you in on a little secret — I’m not the biggest fan of going to the beach in the summertime. It’s always crowded, usually scorching hot, and finding parking is THE WORST (and usually very expensive). That is why I prefer going during the Fall when people are back at work and the weather is just cool enough to enjoy yourself.
Last week, I took a trip to the beach with the fam and it was amazing. We took a day off during the week because we knew it would be empty and headed down for some R&R. As predicted, there was no one there, the weather was perfect, and all in all, the most relaxing day we’ve had in a long time. It ended up being one of those days that by the time we got home, everyone was asleep in the car because we got so much fresh air. We just laid out and chilled. When I wasn’t reading my book, I was catching up with my loved ones and enjoying the salt air. Is there anything better?
I’m telling you, there is nothing more pleasant than wearing a light sweater on a slightly overcast day and watching the seagulls roam, am I right? Also, having the beach to yourself is the best feeling in the world. Maybe it’s the fact that I grew up having to share everything with my siblings that gives me the “mine, mine, mine” complex, but I don’t care because for those two hours spent at the beach, it WAS mine. I could walk along the beach and just be at peace because no one was coming.
I highly recommend that all you take a day off and do the same before the weather starts getting really cold. Go early in the morning, so you’re guaranteed to have the beach to yourself for a little bit, pack a nice lunch, a good book, and have yourself the most relaxing day ever. You will not be disappointed!
