Recipe of the Week: Apple Cider Sangria

As promised, here is the recipe that my sister used to make her DE-LIC-OUS sangria for our Carnival Food Day. I don't know where she got the recipe, but I found a similar one below from thewholesomedish.com, which I posted below. This drink is the essence of Fall with an adult twist on the seasonal favorite — apple cider. You have to make it a few hours ahead of time so that the ingredients can all ruminate before serving, but it's totally worth it. However, the actual process of making it will take you ten minutes or less. Here’s to the beginning of Fall! I hope you all enjoy!

INGREDIENTS

2 bottles (standard size) white wine (Reisling or Moscato)

2 cups caramel-flavored vodka (1 cup if you don't want it too strong)

2 cups ginger ale

5 cups apple cider

2 medium (honey crisp) apples, cored and chopped

3 pears, chopped

2 cinnamon sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Stir the wine, vodka, ginger ale, and apple cider together in a large pitcher.

2. Add the chopped apples, pears, and cinnamon sticks to the pitcher and let it sit for six hours.

3. Serve the sangria cold or over ice.
