For all of my Christmas with the Kranks fans, this is a recipe you HAVE to try — particularly when you’re planning to watch the movie, which is exactly what I did. I found this recipe on smashedpeasandcarrots.com and it’s amazing! With just a few ingredients, this sweet dessert is sure to give you a cavity or two, but hey, it’s the holidays, so who cares, right? Nevertheless, I had so much fun making this dessert and I’m sure you will enjoy it as well! Let me know how it goes in the comments below!
INGREDIENTS
2 (14 oz) cans sweetened condensed milk
1 (7 oz) jar marshmallow creme
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
1 graham cracker crust
To make a Graham Cracker Crust:
1¼ cup graham cracker crumbs
⅓ cup granulate sugar
⅓ cup butter, melted
INSTRUCTIONS
1. First, place the unopened cans of sweetened condensed milk with the labels off into a large pot of water. (When cooked, the sweetened condensed milk turns into caramel.)
2. Bring water to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 3 hours, making sure the water stays above the cans.
3. Carefully pull the cans out with a pair of tongs and then let them cool for 3 hours or up to one day.
4. Open the cans and pour the caramel into a large bowl, reserving ¼ cup.
5. Fold in the marshmallow cream.
6. Pour into pie shell and chill in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
7. When ready to serve, top with whipped topping and drizzle the remaining ¼ cup caramel over top.
