For this week’s recipe, I thought I would give you guys an easy dinner that’s inexpensive and easy to make. The main entree is chicken — but not just any chicken. It’s chicken that’s marinated in a sauce made up of honey, brown sugar, and ketchup. SO YUMMY. For sides, we’ve got green beans and rice. The rice can be any kind you prefer, but I use white rice because it’s cheap. That also goes for the green beans. I use green beans from the can, but instead of just heating them up on the stove, I strain and wash them, dash some salt, pepper, AND Garlic powder and cook them for about 5 minutes. PERFECTO! All of this takes an hour, if that, so I hope you all really like it. Let me know what you think in the comments!
For Marinade:
1/4 cup of brown sugar
1 tbsp water
2 tbsp of honey
3 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients and whisk them together.
For Entree:
2 lb Chicken Breasts
2 tbsp Olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Can of green beans
Success White Rice
Directions:
Wash your chicken and dry it off.
Optional: Cut the chicken into strips (it makes it easier to marinate).
Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken and cook on medium heat on the stove until golden brown on both sides.
After taking chicken off the heat, immediately dunk them into marinade sauce and coat well.
Place chicken in an oven-safe pan and pour the remaining marinade over the chicken.
Side note: I like to let the chicken sit in the marinade for at least an hour (you can do longer) before placing it in the oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for half an hour and serve.
For the green beans, strain the beans from the can and wash them.
Heat saucepan on medium with a little olive oil.
Spice the beans with salt and pepper (to taste) and 1 tsp of garlic powder. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
Cook rice as stated on the box.
