Christmas in July really got me in the mood for Christmas. So much so that I started wrapping my Christmas presents. That’s right, I’ve already started Christmas shopping. Say what you will, but shopping early for presents is probably the smartest thing you can do. Think about it — you’ll save a TON of money because you’re spreading it out over a few months, compared to buying everything during the month of December, plus you’re getting all the sales. Let’s face it, Christmas sales, including Black Friday, aren’t what they used to be which means you have to take advantage of the sales ahead of the Christmas season.
Regardless, my mom and I found ourselves at home alone this weekend, as everyone else made plans, so we decided to make an afternoon of it. In terms of wrapping the presents, we still had a ton of leftover wrapping paper from Christmas’s past, so we didn’t have to buy anything extra — not even tags or ribbon! Of course, you can’t do any Christmas wrapping without something Christmassy in the background, so we put on The Santa Clause. Following our wrapping excursion, we were still in the Christmas spirit, so we starting doing a little more Christmas shopping online. With all the back-to-school deals, we made out like a bandit! Is there any better feeling than getting your Christmas gifts at half-price?!
For those of you who may be calling me crazy as you read this, I do understand. Not enough to stop doing stuff like this, but enough to see where you’re coming from. I will say that I don’t think I’ll be wrapping anymore presents until Christmastime just because it is so much fun to do when you've got the Christmas tree up and the lights lit up everywhere. However, I will not deny how much fun my mom and I had getting into the holiday spirit this weekend. So if any of you are looking for ways to get in the Christmas mood, I highly recommend putting on a Christmas film (or some music) and wrapping until your heart’s content!!
